Thai Catering in Adelaide: Menus, Styles and How to Book
12 July 2026 · 4 min read · Rim Thang Thai, Glenelg
If you are hunting for Thai catering in Adelaide, the good news is that Thai food might be the most catering-friendly cuisine there is. It is built to be shared, it travels well, and there is something on the table for everyone — from the kid who only eats fried rice to the friend who wants it as hot as you can make it.
We are Rim Thang Thai, a family kitchen on Jetty Road in Glenelg, and roughly a third of what we do is catering. Here is how Thai catering works, the different styles you can choose, and how to get a menu and quote for your event.
Why Thai works so well for catering
Big-tray Italian and pub-style catering can be heavy and one-note by the second helping. Thai is the opposite — bright, fresh and varied. A good spread balances a creamy coconut curry against a punchy stir-fry, noodles against rice, and something crunchy to start. People graze, go back, and mix and match.
It is also genuinely inclusive. Every curry, stir-fry and noodle dish can be made vegan, vegetarian or gluten-friendly, and because heat in Thai food is added rather than baked in, we can keep a dish mild for the table and leave the chilli on the side for the brave.
The main styles of Thai catering
There is no single way to cater an event, so we build around what suits yours:
Banquet feast — shared platters of curries, stir-fries, noodles and rice down the middle of the table. Social, generous, and our most popular for sit-down events. Street-food stations — a laid-out spread guests serve themselves from, ideal for functions where people are standing and mingling. Grazing and starters — dumplings, spring rolls, curry puffs and fish cakes for drinks and canapés. Set menu — a fixed per-person selection that is easy to plan and budget. Drop-off platters — ready-to-serve trays delivered to your office or home, the simplest way to feed a crowd well.
