First time at Rim Thang? Here's what to order

An overhead spread of Thai dishes at Rim Thang Thai, Glenelg

A good Thai menu can cause a small amount of panic — too many things you want, and a couple you can't pronounce. Here's how we'd build a first order for a table of two to four: one from each corner, balanced for heat and texture, nothing that clashes. Follow this and you can't go wrong.

1. Start with something golden

Open with a shared starter while the wok gets going. Crisp curry puffs, our dumplings, or a plate of spring rolls — see the whole lineup in the starters guide. They set the table and buy you time to argue about mains.

2. Pick a curry

Every table needs a curry to spoon over rice. Go Choo Chee if you like it rich and a little sweet, green curry for the classic fragrant heat, or Panang beef for something deep and slow. Add jasmine rice — non-negotiable.

3. Add a noodle or a rice

Balance the curry with something wok-fried. Pad Thai is the crowd favourite and mild by default; Pad See Ew is its smoky, savoury cousin; or bring the heat sideways with Tom Yum Fried Rice.

4. A stir-fry to share

One more dish for the middle of the table. The gentle, moreish cashew nut stir-fry pleases everyone, or go herby and punchy with Pad Krapow. Now you've got crunch, curry, noodles and stir-fry — a proper spread.

How spicy should you go?

Short version: tell us. Mild still tastes like something here, and Thai-hot is real heat, so pitch it honestly — our spice guide breaks it down. When you're ready, the full menu is right here, and we're open every night from 5PM at 39 Jetty Road.
